The Regional Centre on Small Arms (RECSA) Secretariat has expressed its profound appreciation to H.E. Dr. Vincent Biruta, Minister of Interior of Rwanda and Chairperson of the RECSA Council of Ministers, for graciously hosting the RECSA delegation led by Executive Secretary Mr. Jean Pierre Betindji.
This high-level engagement provided an important platform to review progress and accelerate the implementation of the 11th Council of Ministers meeting resolutions. Discussions centered on advancing strategies for effective small arms control, strengthening the implementation of the Nairobi Protocol, and enhancing regional cooperation in promoting peace and security.
The Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to fully support the Council’s decisions under the Government of Rwanda’s chairmanship. The meeting concluded with a renewed sense of energy and dedication to addressing the complex challenges posed by the proliferation of small arms and light weapons in the region.
RECSA continues to play a pivotal role in fostering partnerships among governments, regional organizations, and civil society to achieve a safer and more secure Africa.
