RECSA is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the Regional Assessment Report on the Implementation of the Nairobi Protocol, taking place in Nairobi on 25 March 2026. This landmark publication provides the first comprehensive, systematic assessment of the Protocol’s implementation over its 20-year history (2005–2025).
Highlight: High-Level Dialogue on SALW Management and Control
A core component of this event is a High-Level Dialogue designed to mobilize renewed political and strategic commitment. This forum will serve as a critical “Call to Action” for Member States, the diplomatic community, and partners to:
Strengthen Regional Cooperation: Foster a renewed political commitment to accelerate the implementation of SALW control frameworks.
Secure Sustainable Resources: Urge for increased financial investment from both national budgets and development partners.
Enhance Technical Capacities: Address existing gaps in implementation and improve coordination to ensure long-term stability in the RECSA region.
Promote Evidence-Based Dialogue: Use the report’s findings to inform targeted technical assistance and international cooperation.
